  • "So What Happens Now..."

    Saturday night was the final night of Evita at the Borough Theatre, my first production as musical director for the Concept Players. It was my first time conducting and directing a musical, complete with 9 part band, and gathered a hugely positive response, drawing in one of the largest audiences the company had ever performed to. As I said in my Facebook post, it's been an absolute pleasure to be the musical director for such an ambitious (and highly relevant) project, and I’m delighted to also be working with them on their next musical production (SHOUT! The Mod Musical)

  • Evita - Borough Theatre, Abergavenny

    For the past few months I’ve been working with the Concept Players as Musical Director on their upcoming performance of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s “Evita”, a biomusical focussing on the life and times of Eva Peron. Under the direction of Ruairidh MacLeod-Lyon and starring Rhiannon Rose in the eponymous role, Tim Reynolds as Che and Shane Goodsir as Peron, this has been an incredible project to work on, made more so by the story’s own resonances with contemporary politics.

  • Trello - A Sound Designer's Best Friend

    Having worked on and completed a few projects this year, I have to wax lyrical about my favourite project management software - Trello. Having made extensive use of this wonderful, FREE app, specifically while working on Teyze and Mandagon, I felt obliged to express my absolute love and adoration for it, especially with respect to how I've been using it for sound design version control. I'll be talking exclusively about the 'free to use' versions and options that are available. Incidentally this is not a paid-for advert for Trello and I’m in no way connected to them or gaining financially; I think they provide a great product which solves a huge number of issues for sound designers and want to share my appreciation for it.
